"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Ephesians 6:12 (King James Version)

Picture
SHELLEY is a Christian Paranormal Novella set in the woods of South Georgia. If you like ghost stories, give this one a read. It's not the typical ghost story....

SHELLEY began as a story about how fun childhood can be when you live in the country without technology. It quickly turned into something much deeper, and the characters took me to a dark place that needed to be explored. It is my prayer that as you read this story, you realize that demons are real, Christians are not perfect, and that we live in a sinful world where childhood traumas create wounds in our souls. I have had readers ask me if I plan to write a sequel to this story since the ending is wide open, and I am not saying I won't. I would love to revisit these characters.

BACK COVER BLURB

When 13-year-old Narie loses her mother to cancer, she is forced to leave the city and move to the country with her grandmother, a woman who is nothing more than a stranger to her. With no Wi-Fi or cell phone reception, Narie is sure her new life in the middle of nowhere is going to be dull and boring. But she discovers her mother's childhood diaries and embarks on a search for the creepy house in the woods--a house that Narie's grandmother insists was only a figment of her daughter's imagination. Things become complicated when Narie realizes that the woods hold much more than a creepy house. Who is the little girl in the white dress? What does she have to do with Narie's mother? What secret is Narie's grandmother harboring?

Thank you for your interest in SHELLEY and may God bless you, Cynthia P. Willow

My Review of Like a Bad Pregnancy

Like A Bad Pregnancy (The Wakefield Stories Book 1)Like A Bad Pregnancy by Molly LeFavre
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really really enjoyed this story! I feel like I know the people in the little town of Wakefield, and I can relate to the small town gossip and the feeling that everyone knows your business. I can also relate to doing whatever it takes to protect your children, and sometimes as a mom, I don't always make the best decision, but it's the one I feel is best at that time. I think Addy and Jake were both selfish, but they were young and needed some life experience and growing up to realize what was what. I loved the humor in this book and the realness of the characters. I'm anxious to know what the authors will write about in the next book, but the possibilities are endless since several side-characters were introduced. Great job on this one! If you like clean stories that you'd see on Lifetime or Hallmark if made into a movie, then pick this one up.

Fall On Your KneesFall On Your Knees by Mary C. Findley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I'm a fan of Mary Findley's writing as I've read and reviewed many of her books. This is a great short and sweet story that has a touch of romance, a touch of action, a little bit of suspense, and a surprise or two that I wasn't expecting. Add an awesome dog and the warmth of one of the most beloved Christmas songs of all time and you have a perfect Christian read. Well done.

My Review of Redemption by Christina Simpson

Redemption (The Restoration Series) (Volume 1)Redemption (The Restoration Series) by Christina Simpson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There were things about this book I didn't like (First person, multiple POVs, and time switching), but that's a personal preference. However, the story is good and kept me turning the pages. My heart went out to the women and I love a good Christian story that isn't too graphic. Granted, there were parts that were hard to read, but the author left plenty to the imagination. I will definitely finish this series when the rest is written. Thumbs up!

MY REVIEW OF SEASONS OF CHANGE BY C.J. PETERSON

Seasons of Change (Grace Restored Series #1)Seasons of Change by C.J. Peterson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seasons of Change is a wonderful story about life's up and downs. There were parts that were hard to read, and definitely some parts that I didn't see coming. I was page turning and on the edge of my seat here and there, and that's a good thing. Because this is the first book in a series, it ends on a cliff-hanger, so if you don't like cliff-hangers, you might be disappointed with the ending. It didn't really have closure; it just stopped. That doesn't bother me because I know it's a series. In this book, Peterson tackles tough issues such as alcohol, abuse, disease, and murder, but it's not graphic, which I appreciate. I'll be reading the rest of this series. I received a review copy of this book and my thoughts are my own.

U R MISSING - Andrea's StoryU R MISSING - Andrea's Story by Bridget Burnett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked this story especially the clown plot. That was one of the main story lines that kept me turning the pages. I wanted to know who he was! I also liked the other characters too, and I could relate to Andrea. The Christian parts of the story weren't over done and only really showed up at the end, so even someone who isn't Christian might still enjoy this story. Everyone--Christian or not--deals with some of the things that Andrea dealt with. I look forward to reading other books by this author if she puts any more out because I really did enjoy the story she created, and I loved the message she sends to the readers. Forgiveness, grace, mercy.... So why not 5 stars? I don't want to post a spoiler, but there was one part of the story that was left hanging that left me feeling empty, so because of that disappointment, I can't give the 5 stars, but I would still recommend this story to anyone who likes to read Christian fiction. :)

My Review of Retreat to Folly by Missy Fillion

Retreat to Folly (Jesus on Folly, #1)Retreat to Folly by Missy Fillion
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Are you a mother? Ever felt like all you do is change diapers and clean up messes? Ever feel like you have no purpose outside of being a mommy? Ever looked in the mirror and not recognized your reflection? If you answer yes, you will identify with Susan, who is in desperate need for a retreat. But she's also in need of a savior. Jesus. This book reads a lot like a self help book. There's not a whole lot of dialogue. It's mainly telling versus showing, but that's not a bad thing for this story. The author does a great job getting the reader to relate to Susan. There were times I felt like the author had read my own journal. As a mother of three, this book really helped me. If you're a mom, give it a read.

I love to write fiction and fantasy with a twist of faith.  I usually focus on a young adult audience, but have ventured into some mature stories as well.  But, you don't have to be young to enjoy my writing, just young at heart.
