Of all the Ways He Loves MeOf all the Ways He Loves Me by Suzanne D. Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I started this book a couple of nights ago, but only made it to 15% before being interrupted. I'm a busy mom. Anyway, my daughter woke at 4a.m. this morning and after I got her back to sleep, I picked up my Kindle and read the last 85%. I'm not a big romance reader, but I think that's because the couple times I've read romance in my past, it wasn't realistic or it was too dirty. This book reminded me of watching "Dawson's Creek" but it was quite clean. It has a mild Christian theme but nothing so preachy that would turn a non-Christian off. Nadia and Paterson go through the same thing that a lot of friends do. This is a light and fun read that is funny in places. It has a happy ending, which I like. In this day and time when television and books are so full of filth, it's nice to see that there are still people who write and appreciate the innocence and purity young relationships should have. And thank goodness there were no references such as "eye candy" and the typical "butterflies in my stomach." I'm so glad this was the first book I read by this author. I'm now an official fan.

Many WatersMany Waters by William Woodall
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I'm a fan of this author. My son loves his werewolf series. I was pleasantly surprised to read a love story written by a man and it be so clean and pure. I really felt all the characters were believable and felt their emotions. There is an unexpected twist in this story that I found original to this type of story. It's a brilliant move by this author and makes me want to read even more of his work. If you love a good faith-based, clean romance, pick this one up

Songs of a Loving Heart-(Poetry for Love #1)Songs of a Loving Heart- by Vibhu Ashok
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was given this book as a gift before it was published. I'm not a big poetry fan, but the author knows how to put beautiful words together. When I read his work, I was reminded of the Song of Solomon from the Bible. If you're a fan of love poems or even if you're not, read these beautiful lines. A big 5 stars for this talented poet!

Sense and Sensibility meets Little Women

Persistent Love, A NovellaPersistent Love, A Novella by Laura J. Marshall
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story reminded me a lot of "Little Women" at times and "Sense and Sensibility" at times. It was an easy, lighthearted read that had just enough mystery to keep the reader in suspense. I love castles and keys. Add s stubborn, young, beautiful girl who's mad at God, and you've got yourself a great story. So many stories show the man being the one who doesn't have faith with the girl desperately trying to save him or at least get him saved. Not this one. From the moment I began reading this book, I was hooked. I had to know what really happened and why. If you like clean love stories with faith blended in, give this novella a read. It's perfect for an afternoon on the couch.

The 'Pprentices, the Puppets, and the Pirates (Alexander Legacy, #2)The 'Pprentices, the Puppets, and the Pirates by Sophronia Belle Lyon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is so much to say about this story. First of all, it's still not finished, so I hope Sophronia has been writing! Seriously though, it's not a cliffhanger; it has its own ending and closure of sorts. This book, like the first one in the series, is so fully of beautiful descriptive words that paint a lovely picture in the reader's mind. As I said in my review of the first book, it really doesn't matter if you've never read the classics this story draws from. Sophronia has a way of filling in the gaps for you, and she's even concluded small bios of the characters in the back of the book. The Christian themes of this book are so refreshing and touching. I tend to get a little choked up when one of the characters is able to lead another to Christ. Although the book deals in human trafficking, it's not graphic, which I also appreciate. I would like to add that I really enjoyed reading from Ollie's POV this time around. And I love that most of the members of the Alexander company have a past that some religious folks would shun. The fact that orphans, misfits, thieves, and other criminals are accepted, forgiven, and shown mercy and grace is just one more way Sophronia's writing glorifies our Lord and shows the world what kind of God he truly is. I simply cannot wait for the next book in this series. I'm dying to know who the real villain is behind all of the evil that has taken place. Do yourself a favor and get this series. It will take you to another world and time. But enjoy it as it is. Don't pick it apart and compare it to the classic works it was drawn from. It would be just as good if Sophronia had completely made up her own characters. It's her writing that is magnificent, not the classic characters she writes about. Although, I think she makes them even better. Hats off to Sophronia for another well done tale!

NEW RELEASE!

I'm really excited to announce that my 13-year-old daughter has written her own book.  This was an assignment I gave to her and her brother at the beginning of the school year.  My son is still working on his.  Anyway, we have chosen her pen-name, and the book will be released very soon.  Her cover artist, Mary C. Findley, is in the process of creating an awesome depiction of the story, and her editor, Carol Fountain, has returned the manuscript.  As you can imagine, excitement is building.  She is hoping to get some pre-orders of the print book to fund her next church youth trip, so friends and family, that means you.  The books will be $10.00, and she will sign them for you.  So are you ready to know more about the book?  Yes, I thought so.

Wondering why "Tales" is not spelled "Tails?"
Read the book... hehe.

This is Vermin, Ash's cat.  He has an awesome personality, but he likes to runaway.  Something very scary happens to Vermin in the story, but you'll have to read it to find out.  Hint: It involves witches' brew!

I almost revealed pics of Ash and his friend Chasity, but I decided to wait until the release of the book cover, so sorry to disappoint you there!

While this book has fun paranormal elements in it, I must warn you that it has a clear Christian message.  Demons are real.  So are angels.  This book deals with both.  I am so very proud of my daughter's willingness to witness for Jesus.  It's not always an easy thing to do.  To God be the glory, and our greatest hope would be that through this work of fiction, people who are lost will find their way to Christ.  Oh and one more thing I almost forgot!  We took the letters of my daughter's first name and scrambled them.  We came up with Ciella.  Then we took the letters of her middle name and got Naden.  So, her pen-name is Ciella Naden, which I'm in love with.  Thank you for joining me under the willow tree and please support my daughter in any way you can (Buy the book...wink).

WARNING!

Deadly Business (Maid for Murder, #1)Deadly Business by Susette Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

WARNING READERS! This book is Christian. It does state that in the description, but in case you missed it, I’m stating it in this review. If you’re not a Christian, you might be rubbed the wrong way by the main character’s point of view. There is still a great deal of mystery in the book, so it might not bother you at all, but please don’t read this book and then complain that the author was too preachy. For Christians, this is a refreshing murder mystery that doesn’t contain the sexual scenes that a lot of secular murder/mysteries do.

Another warning for readers is that this book is part of a series, and it will probably leave you a little disappointed in the ending. All of the unanswered questions are not answered. If you enjoy cliffhangers, then this book is for you. If you don’t, then please don’t read this book. I do enjoy cliffhangers, but I do wish the next book was already out. I will be reading this entire series because I must know the rest. One of the things this author is good at is leaving the book in the mind of the reader hours after the reader has finished it. I’m still trying to figure out what happened.

Now, how did I feel about Bailey? I’ve read a lot of the reviews, and I have to agree with the five star ones and the one star ones to a degree. Bailey made me laugh out loud at times. And at other times, I wished I could smack her. Sometimes she was just so stupid and irresponsible. But that’s part of what makes this story move. So many times when we watch thrillers and horror flicks, we say to the dumb blonde who is checking out the noise, “No, stupid! Run the other way! Mind your own business!” Well, here ya go. Bailey is nosey. Bailey is a little cocky at times. Bailey is silly. Bailey is a flirt at times. Bailey is full of lust at times. And sometimes, Bailey is just unbelievable. Bailey has been raised in a Christian home that sounds like it borders on being a little sheltering, but that’s not always a bad thing. But guess what! Bailey is also human, and she is not sinless. She deals with temptation as all humans do, Christian or not. I personally hope that as this series moves on that Bailey will mature and do the right thing. I hope that she is able to show Max that being a Christian does not mean you can’t have fun and enjoy a wonderful life. I hope her life will reflect Jesus enough that he will be drawn to the Christian faith.

Do I recommend this book? Yes, as long as you have read the warnings and are prepared to accept them.

    Author

I love to write fiction and fantasy with a twist of faith.  I usually focus on a young adult audience, but have ventured into some mature stories as well.  But, you don't have to be young to enjoy my writing, just young at heart.
